History

Mansoura Engineering Journal (MEJ) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, Egypt. The journal was first issued in 1976 under the title “The Bulletin of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University.” In 1986, it was renamed Mansoura Engineering Journal (MEJ), under which it has continued publication to the present day. Since its inception, MEJ has served as a platform for disseminating high-quality research across a wide range of engineering disciplines.

Submission of Manuscripts

We welcome the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria with regard to the originality, significance, and scientific excellence. All submitted articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process prior to publication in MEJ to ensure academic excellence and integrity.

Publishing Schedule

The journal publishes 6 issues per volume each year. While the journal aims to publish issues according to the planned schedule, occasional delays may occur. In such cases, the journal may release issues later in the year, including publishing earlier-numbered issues (e.g., Issue 1) at a later date, generally within the same calendar year.

Plagiarism

MEJ takes issues of copyright infringement, plagiarism, and all other breaches of best practice in publication very seriously. Each submitted article is checked with plagiarism-checking software. Any manuscript found to exceed the journal’s acceptable similarity threshold will be rejected.

Article Processing Charges

There are currently no Article Processing Charges (APCs) for publishing in MEJ. This policy applies to all submissions received on or after January 1, 2023 .

Copyright

MEJ is a fully Open Access journal. No subscription or access fees are charged to readers. All published articles are immediately and freely accessible online, supporting the principle that open access enhances the global exchange of knowledge and increases research visibility and impact.
Authors retain the right to post their published articles on personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication.

All articles published in MEJ are permanently free to read, download, copy, and distribute. Permitted reuse is governed by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Permitted reuse is defined by the following user licenses: Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

Archiving and Digital Preservation

MEJ is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico, the two leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term. Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.
MEJ ensures long-term preservation and accessibility of its content through archiving in CLOCKSS and Portico, the leading digital preservation services. In addition, all articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through CrossRef, ensuring persistent identification and discoverability.
