Review Process
The review process is outlined in the following chart:

Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to Mansoura Engineering Journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout.
Reviewer Selection
Each manuscript is assigned to the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Associate Editor, who identifies a minimum of two independent expert reviewers selected on the basis of their subject expertise and the confirmed absence of any conflict of interest with the authors or their institutions.
Timeline
The journal targets a first editorial decision within 8 to 10 weeks of submission, subject to reviewer availability. Authors will be informed of any significant delays.
Reviewer Responsibilities and Confidentiality
Reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding manuscript content and may not share, retain, or use unpublished material without explicit written consent from the authors and editors. Reviewers must declare any conflict of interest upon receiving a review invitation and must not input manuscript content into generative AI tools.
Editorial Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final acceptance decision based on reviewer recommendations. Possible decisions are: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. All decisions are communicated to authors with reviewer comments.
Appeals
Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision may submit a formal appeal to the Editor-in-Chief (), accompanied by a detailed point-by-point rebuttal. Appeals are considered only on the grounds of substantive scientific dispute or procedural error and must be submitted within 30 days of the decision notification. The appeals procedure follows the COPE guidelines on handling appeals and complaints.
This process is conducted in accordance with the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and the ICMJE Recommendations.
