Abstract
An experimental investigation was carried out to elucidate the role of magnetic filed on the wear behavior and surface roughness variations of steel/steel and brass/steel combinations under dry sliding and sliding in the presence of oil lubrication The experiments were performed on a machine that erosion of finger undecided on a firm surface, as well as under the influence of loads fixed amount of 5 and 10 Nm and at the speed of sliding a maximum of 0.3 m / s in the presence and absence of a magnetic field constant density magnetic 1.6 mM Tesla between the sliding surfaces. The experiments showed that the magnetic field effect is obvious in reducing corrosion rates for groups Alkhnbarh in the cases of dry sliding and Chute. There was also an improvement in the degree of surface roughness in the presence of a magnetic field compared to a degree of roughness in its absence, under the operating conditions tested.
