Abstract

This paper presents a ” Computenzied Methodology” for solving the problem of scheduling assembly lines baving tasks of stochastic performance times. An approach is introduced for balancing and evaluating such lines under the condition of unspecified task time distributions. Off-line repair of incompleted tasks, and automating the stations which exhibit potentiallysignificant probility of incompletion.also, for evaluation purpose, a three component comprehensive stochastic coast function in integrated into the belsancing algorithum. The procedure making it possible to pace the line at low coast and keep the work at predicatable condition. A sample monte-carlo mechanism is merged to approximate the probability of incompletion of station, bence the probability of line completion can be found by simple computation that by examining the occurrence of random eveats when the assignments are completed. On the other hand, the case of normaly distributed task time is addressed.
