Abstract
Local wavenumber/frequency spectra of pressure fluctuations associated with two types of vortex separation over a prison are examined the first vortex is a span wise vortex is a conceal vortex formed by the separation of a flow at 45oto two sides of the prison the technique used to estimate the wavenumber frequency spectra uses pressure measurements from twolap3, for the span wise vortex, the measurements show that low frequencies and small wavenumbers dominate the pressure fluctuations. Further downstream, the energy is reduced and distributed to a wide range of frequencies and wavenumbers. As for the conical vortex, most of the energy is confined to low frequencies and wavenumbers. Wavenumbers spectra for the pressure fluctuations are also presented. The technique used to estimate the wavenumber, frequency spectra is cable to give the vortex formation, is energy distribution and vortex breakdown is space and time.
