Abstract

In the present work, the application of a thick layer of cloth in a honeycomb form for the absorption of water vaponr from atmospheric air is investigated. Three equivalent eells are arranged in scrics and the air stream is allowed to flow through them. Liquid Caleium Chloride is applied as the absorbing material. Each cell is impregnated with the desiccant (CaCL2) where the cloth layer functions as a desiccant carrier. In the theoretical model, the effect of various parameters on the absorption process is analyzed. Dimensionless variables are also presented with the corresponding physical meanings. Comparison between the experimental results and the theoretical model show that the agreement is reasonable.
