Abstract

The decrease in the available quantity of Egyptian cotton leads to the dependence on importing special type of Indian cotton The use of this Indian yarn to produce knitted fabrics leads to the appearance of many problems just like change in dimensions. Height of fabrics before and after finishing for this purpose this study in undertaken to investigate these problems. -First Effect of relaxation on the fabric structure.-Second Effect of relaxation on the shrinkage in both directions.-Third Effect of relation on the weight of fabric before and after finishing. -Fourth Effect of relaxation time on the shrinkage in both directions. Results proved that the fabric structure from this Indian cotton yarn is distorted in width and length directionsthe shrinkage in wales direction is (nice the shrinkage in course direction. The greatest increase in fabric weight is found to occur after washing. Moreover, results showed that the change in weight inversely proportional to the dimensions ( length and width) of fabric .
