Abstract
The concept of sustainable architectural heritage came compatible with the concept of sustainability , which emerged in the late twentieth century, and by seeking to reduce the risks to the environment, the earth and all its aspects and the Built Environment In particular therefore have been the sustainability of architectural heritage had been launched from this concept in order to maintain the achievements of the man in the centuries ago and expanded in keeping them for future generations to be a living witness to the nation's past , present and future and prevent it from extinction , so all aspects of physical and social , economic, and not limiting efforts to preserve the building without a man .From this perspective, the search deliberately integrated sustainable to maintain the ancient Arab cities through the activation of sustainability Urban for positions fierce and so balanced accounts for the physical preservation of the physical component of concrete moral and maintain a non-significant component of (the values, customs and traditions). That is why the choice of the city of Kirkuk to the contents of the historical position of the historical and heritage elements of the mission and extended to ancient eras, where he was subjected to many external forces of change are due to wars that have passed on the country as well as planning factors that ravaged large parts of the urban fabric of the city. It was necessary to develop methodologies to preserve the architectural structure of the fabric of the old center and the continuation and prevent them from degradation and loss of Mortha civilizational and cultural.
