Abstract

The urban development of the existing areas in Egyptian cities is considered one of the basic requirements as a result of the continuous urban growth of the city, to respond to the increasing population establishing residential areas to meet the basic human needs to provide appropriate living conditions with the current available potentials, leading to the emergence of some gatherings adjacent to the structure of the city. The impact of this phenomenon on the rapid change in urban fabric of Mansoura city is noticeable, especially since 2004 until 2017.The study seeks to monitor the stages of change in the urban fabric on the outskirts of the city due to the cohesion of surrounding residential communities and classifying each pattern of urban growth depending on the type of growth in each , to identify the urban footprint of the city , monitor and track the impact of urban transformation factors of the city on the appearance and continuity of these clusters and analyzing the elements of balanced urban development system through adopting the goals of sustainable urban development known as (SDG`s) as the criteria to produce a set of indicators to assess and evaluate the availability of the main points in the goals of the strategic plan of the city
