Abstract
Composite steel box girder presents an efficient structural solution in moderate span bridges with shallow cross-section depths. To meet the need for using such structural elements, standing on the diversified factors affecting on preliminary proportion limits of section elements according to different design specifications is the aim of this paper. The comparison concerned with main proportions limits of initial dimensioning of the straight composite steel box girder with concrete deck of highway bridges. Therefore, comprehension differences and similarities obtained here using considered design specifications give a hand of help to present valid conclusions that can yield to a positive upgrade of the design process..
