Abstract

Traditional crafts are playing an important part of local identity in the city … Nowadays more efforts are being made to preserve them and establish a base and anchor point of economic and touristic development in the Egyptian cities. the paper clarifies the heritage values could evolve in a future through present one of the oldest site in fowah has a characteristic location of traditional crafts therefore it played a great role in contributing and developing many crafts in the other Egyptian cities using a Past-Present-Future framework. The research followed an historical and theoretical methodology for documentation then analytical studies approach for record the main parts of factory and surrounding urban characters and comparative methodology as an approach to submit an intervention plan and complete a missing parts of the historical factory and rehabilitated it in the frame of international charters as "Vince charter 1964, Burra charter 2019" The research attempts to submit a strategy for Conserving the remains parts of the factory and submit an intervention standards to revive the site and reuse it by referring to complete the missing parts from the similar factory in turkey which was established in the ottoman era for same purpose as a "military uniform" for Promoting the industrial and handcrafts value and establishing linkages with other development programs in the city that maximize the added value and social –economical return which will lead to a higher contribution in the national economy
