Abstract

Most people around the world want to move from the countryside to the cities or from one city to another that provides them with all their human needs for a better life. The dream may come true for them or turn into a nightmare for reasons related to general problems facing most cities in the world, such as the high cost of living and the absence of social justice, these problems cause an increase in poor families, or the issue of refugees and the inability of some cities to welcome them, the energy crisis, and the challenges of climate change that negatively affect the quality of life of residents, These basic problems that the research seeks to solve by discussing the concept of humanization cities and its practical strategies then examining successful case studies from various cities (Baraga/Portugal, Ciudad de la Costa/Uruguay, Vienna/Austria, Madina/ Saudi Arabia) as best practices to extract additional strategies as a proposed solution to current cities problems or considering in creating new cities to be more livable, The research concluded that success or failure of cities that depends on considering the human scale , his needs, the harmony between him and the built environment. This is a hypothesis, which is a condition that makes cities attractive for residents or feeling alienated and the desire to immigrate to another place. For example, a city like Vienna has become at the top of the cities. as a livable city, the first tourist destination due to the application Humanizing cities concept, and the model that encourages other cities to apply the concept of humanization because of its positive return on society and states.
