Abstract
The growing need for sustainable architectural solutions in the contemporary era underscores the necessity for interactive architectural applications that can adapt to changing requirements. In architecture, folding systems refer to three-dimensional, foldable structural forms that create unique spatial configurations and possess a wide range of capabilities. Drawing inspiration from origami techniques, this study emphasizes the role of folding systems in generating innovative spatial designs. The research problem arises from the fact that the built environment is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, necessitating the implementation of smart solutions. The goal of this study is to identify sustainable design solutions that promote innovative and eco-friendly architectural practices. It investigates the benefits and challenges of incorporating origami-inspired design principles in architecture to enhance sustainability. The objective is to examine the potential of traditional origami art as an inspiration in architecture translating its capacities to enhance architecture sustainable solutions. In addition, the advanced technology offered by museums moves them to the metaverse, where they enjoy a dramatic boost in their spatial coverage by supplementing their constrained physical areas. The mechanism for reaching the goal by employing a comprehensive literature review, case study and analytical methodology. In Panama, Frank Gehry's building "Biomuseo" Museum of Natural History was used as a case study. The research concluded with a method for identifying the architectural form in context and its potentials towards sustainable design in Egypt. The findings endorsed the usage of origami art ideas as a source of inspiration in the development of unique creative architectural concepts taking into considerations: contextual factors, construction implications and feasibility costs. The study recommended for applying new programs in a variety of ways to build locations with diverse spatial layouts and compositions
