Abstract

Green technology offers a solution to the pressing environmental crisis. It can change the structure and generation of waste so as not to harm the earth, and people can become environmentally friendly. To address complex environmental challenges like climate change and pollution, innovative Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions are essential. These technologies can help optimize resource use, reduce waste, and promote sustainable development. However, it's crucial to balance economic growth, social equity, and environmental protection when implementing green technologies. This survey paper systematically examines the landscape of Green Technology, focusing on its pivotal components: Measures of Greenness, Energy-Efficient Systems, IoT and A.I. Use Cases for Sustainability, and Green Future Roadmap. By synthesizing existing research, we provide a comprehensive overview of the technologies driving Green Systems. Also, a bibliometric analysis in this study highlights the growing momentum and diverse applications of green technology research. Our analysis underscores the critical role of A.I. and IoT in promoting eco-sustainability across diverse domains. This comprehensive survey serves as a beacon—a roadmap for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners committed to pioneering sustainability through the integration of A.I. and IoT.  In particular, the paper highlights top environmental challenges due to the likelihood and impact classifications. This paper also discusses the benefits of green technology and spotlights its key criteria, categories, advantages, future research directions, and the benefits that can be derived from it. So, saving world resources for future generations to benefit from it without harming earth planet.
