Abstract
The paper presents the results of electrostatic and electromagnetic field measurements produced under a 220-kV overhead transmission line. Two different sites along the line are selected for field tests, Simplified measuring technique is used and the measurements are performed at different heights ranging from 1 m to 3 m above ground surface, with transverse distances up to 25 m around the centre of the transmission line. Using image theory and the quasi-static approximation, corresponding results are calculated and compared with the test results. The comparison shows that the results obtained by field tests are in good agreement with those obtained by calculations. This concludes the adequacy of the simplified measuring technique used in this investigation.
